Stone Temple Pilots announce summer reunion tour
90's Alt Rock icons Stone Temple Pilots have announced a full blown reunion tour spanning 65 cities across North America this summer. The rockers announced the tour at an exclusive launch event in Los Angeles, during which they performed together publicly for the first time in nearly six years. The members of STP include frontman Scott Weiland, guitarist Dean DeLeo, bassist Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz, formed the band in 1992, recorded five studio albums and went on to sell more than 35 million copies worldwide, according to a press release. The Grammy-winning rockers parted ways after completing a tour behind 2001's "Shangri-La Dee Da," which is their most recent studio album. A best-of set titled "Thank You" followed in 2003. While Weiland went on to join Velvet Revolver, the DeLeo brothers co-founded rock quartet Army of Anyone with Filter frontman Richard Patrick and former David Lee Roth Band drummer Ray Luzier.
