Since recently departing the now defunct supergroup Audioslave, legendary Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell has been hard at work on his second solo cd "Carry On" (his first being the excellent and underappreciated '99 release "Euphoria Morning"). Release date was Tuesday 6/5. His tour in support of the new material is under way. He will even be making an appearance on the Tonight Show 6/6. 90's alt rock heavyweights Smashing Pumpkins have recently reformed (singer and leader Billy Corgan and drummer Matt Chamberlain are the only remaining members) and have announced a string of dates in San Francisco and North Carolina (in which the demand was so high that the ticket site server crashed). Expect a full fledged reunion tour to be announced shortly. Another former rumor that has now become fact, is supergroup Velvet Revolver (former members of Stone Temple Pilots and Guns and Roses) teaming up with the remaining members of the legendary Seattle band Alice in Chains for a late summer/fall tour.
